As educators, we care deeply, not only for the education of your children, but for their safety, as well. We know a secure learning environment ensures each student can reach his or her full potential at Anna ISD. However, we would be naïve to think this is not a reality in these times.

We can assure you that safety is our top priority and Anna ISD takes every manner of precaution to keep our children safe while they are in our care.

We encourage a culture where all staff members build relationships with the students of Anna ISD. This helps with staff being able to identify students who may be going through difficult times. It also helps foster a trust in which students will notify staff, teachers or administrators of potential dangers.

In addition to these measures, Anna ISD has additional plans and protocols in place to protect campuses. For security reasons, these protocols are not made public. Parents with concerns related to school security are encouraged to contact Anna ISD Chief of Police George White at 972-924-1000.

Our greatest defense against violence is alertness from our community and our students in reporting any concerns to us. We cannot do this alone. It will take all of us working together as a collective team to make decisions in our homes, churches, and community to make sure our children are safe. We strongly recommend that you remind your children how important it is to immediately report any safety concern, including prohibited items, safety-related rumors, threatening online activity and suspicious behavior they observe. It is critical that all of us be watchful for any warning signs that may come to light on social media or in everyday conversation.

Our commitment to a safe school community is our priority because your kids are our kids.
