ZPass - Student Locating System

ZPass is a student ridership tracking and monitoring system that uses a radio frequency identification device (RFID) and student cards to track the date, time and location of each student’s entry or exit from the bus.

Why?

Child safety is of primary concern to schools and parents. ZPass helps ensure the safe transportation of children to and from school and school-related events. This system has been put in place, in the event your child a child is missing, the school district can accurately determine if, when, and where the child entered or left the bus.

How?

Students carry a badge assigned to them which is scanned as they enter and exit the bus, allowing a student to be located if necessary. The identification information with the time, date and location of the scan is instantly available to the school district through the Ground Traffic Control web-based fleet management system.

Students using transportation are assigned a locating badge (ZPass). The ZPass is scanned as they enter and exit the bus, allowing a student to be located if necessary. The first ZPass will be provided by Anna ISD at no charge.

Students will be responsible for having their ZPass on a daily basis and will not be permitted to use district transportation without it. It is the student’s responsibility to notify the school prior to 1:00PM if they do not have their ZPass and will need to ride the bus that afternoon. Each replacement ZPass is $5.00 and available to purchase at all AISD campuses and the AISD Transportation Building. Students are given a  2 week grace period to pay for the replacement ZPass. If there is an outstanding balance after 2 weeks, a student loses their privilege for transportation until balance is paid in full.
